Glyanez-Info"!

By vanessateo on 2016年10月04日 08:14 Featured Authors 0

Michele Arpino"!

By vanessateo on 2016年9月05日 23:47 Featured Authors 0

Michele!

(To create is to give form to their fate.)”

Meet our spring creator of the month: Martin Deneuville

By LIN900 on 2016年4月05日 11:00 Featured Authors 0

Happy Spring eYeka!

Spring is always very fun. Sun starts to come out (at least it tries), it gets warmer (and we need that), we start getting ready for the summer, we clean our homes and our minds, take new decisions, forget the bad ones...

In this context of crisis we are in, where things go ugly and we don't quite understand the world anymore, it's great to remember the good things we have, like the almighty creativity! Let's go crazy, live fully, experience stuff, make mistakes, pick up flowers and start over!

This month, please welcome a young and successful beautiful blue-eyed creator. Guys, meet Martin Deneuville

Hi! My name is Martin; I had grown up in Paris before I moved in the South West of France where I studied design and advertising. I left France when I was 22 to finish my studies in the USA where I graduated in 2014. At the end of the year, as my student visa expired, I had to move back in Europe, so I landed in the UK to start a career as a creative (check the website here).
For the past two years, I’ve been stopping by few creative agencies, but my last copywriter and I split up last year, so I couldn’t stay in advertising that requires to work in team; thus, I
decided to start working on my own, and as I’m a little more comfortable at practicing my job than at writing cover letters, I finally kept going as a freelancer.

When and why have you joined eYeka?

If I remember correctly, it is my flatmate in the United States who talked to me about eYeka; we were looking for a creative challenge we could do together, and he found the platform by chance. We joined and participated in a contest for Pringles, but nothing happened for us unfortunately. I left a one year gap between this contest and the time I started over sending eYeka submissions, and since december, after I had won few prizes, I’ve started focusing more on eYeka contests.

We have very impressive numbers for you. So far, you have joined almost 100 contests, got 159 accepted entries overall and won 8 prizes… This is crazy! How do you explain the success?

It’s a tough lifestyle that must begin every day with a mug of coffee and a Twix. No coffee, no idea. Otherwise, I should admit I have no clue regarding how to get a good idea; I might say that the only thing I’m paying attention to is staying far from what may hinder me while looking for ideas (music, radio, social networks, etc.), but each one develops his own methods.
Moreover, I would say that in my opinion, eYeka offers us a deal that matches quite well with what creation needs; allowing us to switch almost as much as we want from a brand to another, and from a field to another (packaging, advert, digital, and so on..); that is, even though eYeka isn’t the most secure way to practice this job, it is one of the only places that offers the possibility to keep renewing constantly, which is I suppose, essential while doing creation.

What have you been able to do or to achieve with the prizes you have won? What would be next project you have in mind for your next big win?

Actually, that participates markedly in my everyday life; it pays for my travels, maybe for tickets for the next Wimbledon, and for the coffee I need to find ideas! Also, eYeka contests allow me to enrich my portfolio gradually; every three months it changes almost entirely, (and I’m very far from the last update..)! Regarding the next idea I have in mind, I’m ready to listen to what you can exchange against it!

Tell us something that makes you proud…

Hopefully the next project I’ll do. Otherwise, I’m quite happy with the recent prize I won with Ferrero Rocher!

Can you describe eYeka in one short sentence?

A la carte creation (both for creatives & clients by the way).

Anything you would like to say to conclude?

Just a sincere thanks for electing me this month!

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience Martin! We hope you drink many more cups of coffees and eat a lot of Twix to keep on coming up with the great designs you create!

Creator of March - Dmitry Durnitsky: eYeka – is a chance to move forward while staying yourself!

By Ekaterina Pashina on 2016年3月01日 09:00 Featured Authors 0

Happy spring, eYeka!

It is time to celebrate the end of the cold season for many of us and the beginning of spring, the time when our creative vibes are waking up, our spirits are high and we are ready for the new beginnings!

Today we are happy to present you our creator of the month – a filmmaker from Ukraine, who once decided to try himself in a video contest on eYeka and the very first trial turned into success. Please, say hello to Dmitry, aka as dmitrydurnitsky on eYeka.

Dmitry, tell us about yourself: where are you from, what do you do, how are you connected to the world of video making?

Hello! My name is Dmitry Durnitsky. My home country is Eastern Ukraine – the place where military actions are taking place now. I was the witness of the beginning of this war and I had to leave my home in 2014. Now I am a migrant inside my own country and I currently live in the West of Ukraine.

It’s been more than 15 years I have been doing freelance in video and audio production. I started as a copywriter, but gradually I learned all the professions of production and advertising. Currently my main activity is videoblogging, but prize at eYeka makes me think about changing my scope of work.

In the past I was dreaming of becoming a writer and spent whole my youth writing stories and once even started writing a novel. At that time, I was an employee of a small radio station and I lacked the understanding of other ways to earn living by writing rather than creating ads slogans.

Once I decided to try writing a script for a full-length movie and sent it out to all the leading production companies. It seemed to me in the film industry everyone was waiting for my genius ideas and was ready to cover me with gold. However out of 40 letters sent I received 1 response saying that the script did not respond to their format. And at that moment I thought to myself: if nobody wants to use my script I will film my movie myself. This is how my first short film was born and this is how i started to do filmmaking.

How did you end up on eYeka, and what made you participate in a contest?

I remember that I registered on the website around 5 years ago and since then joined many contest groups but never sent any single work. I must say that for many years working in advertising I got really tired of it and even hated it. But what is great about eYeka is that I can pick the brief myself and decide what I will do with it. Decision to participate came spontaneously. I had a lot of free time, almost no orders and money left. I had nothing to lose and wanted to try something new.

You won in your first contest you participated! How did that happen? Did this victory give you anything? How did you come up with the idea for your video for Leopalace?

When we began working on our video for Leopalace we realized that Japanese people – is a whole universe and you can not  surprise them with an ordinary video. That is why we decided to use animation. Our small team brainstormed and almost instantly created a concept, which was then refined during the video production. We spent approximately 100 hours working on it. But apparently it was worth it. Now after winning in this contest we feel ourselves more free, and I hope we will soon start something new, or perhaps finish something old... like writing a novel. We got so inspired by eYeka that after this we started actively participate in contests and wait for the results.

Do you have a team?

I do most of the work myself. But basically we are a family business. It is very important to have the support and understanding of your partner. My Muse always helps me; she is not just my assistant but the ideas generator as well. By the way, the main idea of the Leopalace video belongs to her.

I also have a good friend who can create great music for my next video or film in just a couple of hours.

Do you have projects or works which make you especially proud?

I want to be shy, but its difficult when you are the best. (just kidding!)

Seriously speaking, my favorite project is my daughter, I am very proud of her!

I have a short film which ended in national catalogues – “Riding a tiger can’t get off it easily.” On one of the festivals it was called art-house with morality. This is how suddenly I became art-house director. You can watch the movie here.

Poster:

In 2013 I won international pitching of TV startups “The Next Big Thing” from 1+1 media, leaving behind 118 participants. My reality show project about people’s phobias was bought by a big tv channel. Pitching was a great experience in reaching my goal and my first big high level victory. A piece of a pilot which was filmed for this pitch - here.

A special meaning for me has the work of 2015 called “Sound”. It is a very personal film about those who found Peace but lost Home. Movie made it to the final of a TV competition and was broadcasted on the “DonCult” exhibition in Kiev.

And of course I am proud of my victory in Leopalace contest on eYeka.

Describe eYeka in a short sentence.

eYeka – is a chance to move forward while staying yourself!

Obtaining 7 awards in a single contest is possible with Adrian

By Aldrich Tjahjadi on 2016年2月02日 08:00 Featured Authors 0

The month of February is here and it is time to introduce a great talent in eYeka, Adrian Zapata Garcia. Being one of the top ten creators with the highest creative score and having 27 winnings submissions, Adrian is no stranger to the community. Recently in the Duracell Entertainment Poster contest, the client has rewarded him with 7 winning submissions in just that one contest.

2ca54140ee510132def00a1e243ccdfe

Adrian originated from Málaga, a nice city in the far south of Spain. With a degree in Advertising and a master degree in Marketing, he is set to conquer the world of advertising. He first taste of success was when he won the best marketing campaign for Women's Day organised by the Málaga City Council.

Adrian has started to participate regularly in eYeka contests since 2015 and recently broke the record for the most number of awards given in one contest, seven strikes for the record. He attributed his success to his high level of self-criticism. "You cannot expect success if your idea is no different from the typical advertising solutions. You must go further and push yourself to come out with something out of the box", he commented.

When asked about his thoughts on this achievement, Adrian repeatedly expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to work for a renowned brand like Duracell. He added that the experience of winning contests in eYeka has given him greater confidence about his creativity and his works.

Since you joined, you’ve had 27 winning submissions and 7 chosen submissions picked by Duracell! That’s quite an amazing record. How did you get started with eYeka and how has your experience been so far?

First time I participated in eYeka was in a contest for Beko. They asked for stories to inspire an online video campaign. I was the second winner and I remember I felt like the greatest thing since sliced bread... After that I continued participating in eYeka, but not as serious as I am currently doing. I left my job in December 2014 and in March of this year I decided to focus on eYeka.

My experience has been very good. When I started on this web I was able to provide just a few ideas on each contest. Now I am capable to provide many ideas on every contest. I have become more creative and faster designing thanks to this site.

Could you share more about your creative process and the stages that you go through in creating your work?

Well, these are the stages of my creative process when I face a contest:

  1. I read the brief and lie down on bed, staring at the ceiling and leaving my mind “fly” (no drugs)
  2. After some time thinking, maybe I get a few ideas. If they are good, I note down them; if not, I continue my normal daily tasks. Sometimes ideas come when I am working out, when I wake up, etc., so when that happen, I send those ideas to my own email. I can not afford to forget a single one…
  3. Then I have a look at what the company and its competitors have done until now. Many times your idea has been used before…
  4. Finally, I read again the brief and review my ideas. Once I have selected the best ones, I start to work on them.

Do you have any tips or advice in creating great works and maybe some secret to win?

Every month I send to eYeka staff iberian ham, olives, etc. That increase the chance of success.

No, I think the key is common sense and self-criticism. You can not expect success from typical advertising solutions. You must go a bit far. Besides, you should not discard ideas just because they are not the ones that you like the most. Despite the brief, you never know what exactly the company is waiting for.

How has winning so many prizes with eYeka impacted your life? How have you been using the prize money?

It has impacted on many ways:

  • It has given me more confidence about my work.
  • I have not money problems, so I do not accept crap jobs.
  • I am thinking on business projects.

Any concluding words?

I would like to thank you the opportunity to tell others how amazing and humble I am.

Thank you Adrian for this great interview! We wish you best of luck in your creative career and of course we are looking forward to your new ideas on eYeka!
